One less business will be operating in downtown Davenport.

After hosting nearly 9 years of events, Stardust (at 218 Iowa St.) announced on Facebook that they are closing their doors.

The post from Stardust Davenport says that they couldn't reach an agreement with their landlord so they closed.

Before it was converted to the Stardust in 2017, it was the Emeis Auto and Electrical building. Since being made into an event space, the Stardust has hosted weddings, corporate events, and more.

There's no word on if the owners of Stardust will open up a different event space somewhere else. The Facebook post from the venue thanks their "loyal clients, vendors, and supporters for being part of this fantastic journey".

Though Stardust is the first downtown Davenport closure of 2026, there have been other businesses close recently too. Tiphanie's (which was on 2nd St) closed back in November after 12 years in business. Last April, Cavort (at 229 Brady) closed it's doors too after being open for 5 years. Speakeasy restaurant The Garrison (on W 2nd St) suddenly closed it's doors last year too, after being open for a year.

Of course, there's the 2023 building collapse to remember as a factor in some of this too. At the time, Downtown Davenport Partnership Executive Director Kyle Carter said 18 businesses were closed due to the collapse. Mockingbird on Main, Envied Vintage Clothing, and 4th Street Nutrition had to be relocated.

Meanwhile, Stardust hasn't posted an official closing date but they did list themselves as 'closed' on Facebook.
