A massive "Black Lives Matter" protest is taking place inside Mall of America near Minneapolis, Minnesota. Demonstrators are angry about the shooting of an unarmed black man by Minneapolis police last month.

Hundreds of protesters showed up at Mall of America, defying a restraining order and aiming to repeat last year's shutdown during the holiday shopping season.

Despite the additional security at the mall and messages that the protest was illegal, hundreds of activists showed up on Wednesday afternoon. They were confronted by local and state police, which issued a warning that the protest was against the law and demanded the crowd disperse. [RT.com]

Last year’s protest at the Mall of America drew nearly 3,000 people and forced temporary closures of over 80 stores on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Two dozen protesters were arrested. Almost a thousand people indicated on Facebook that they would attend today's protest. [RT.com]

UPDATE: After being removed from the mall by the authorities, protesters moved the rally to the Minneapolis Saint-Paul International Airport (MSP).
