Stray Chicken Rescued Outside Of An Iowa Buffalo Wild Wings Restaurant
Talk about good timing.
I guess one certain chicken is living right because she escaped sweet jalapeno sauce.
This sounds like the plot of a Disney/Pixar short but it's real, according to the Des Moines Register. You gotta love when life makes this stuff actually happen.
Buffalo Wild Wings, known for their sports watch parties served with a side of chicken wings and enough sauces to swim in, was what one chicken crossed the road to find.
It happened in Des Moines on Monday, when a stray hen was rescued right outside of the Buffalo Wild Wings location (at 3311 S.E. 14th St). The Animal Rescue League of Iowa took the hen and now, she's safe and receiving the care she needs, according to a Facebook post.
There isn't any word of where she came from, like a resident with backyard chickens or from a farm. But that daring hen isn't up for adoption at the moment, but there are several other animals (including chickens) that the ARL says you can adopt right now.
Maybe Buffalo Wild Wings wasn't open when she got to the door, but the hen really did get lucky by being rescued by the ARL. The post also says that all ARL animals are adopted as "family pets" so you aren't going to make their chickens into dinner either.
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa is the state's largest nonprofit animal shelter. They have multiple locations in Des Moines, along with some in Ankeny, Marshalltown, and Altoona.
