Carvana Just Lost Its License to Operate in Illinois
If you're in the market for a car in Illinois, you won't be getting one at a Carvana.
The Illinois Secretary of State suspended the online auto dealer's license because it didn't properly transfer the titles on the cars that it sold, according to WTVO.
Carvana is also accused of misusing out-of-state temporary registration permits.

Back in February, the Secretary of State's office looked into 90 customer complaints about Carvana and they have since told the company that they will have to "resolve the issues at hand" before their suspension can be lifted.
Carvana allows people to buy a car entirely online, with the option to have it delivered to you (as soon as the very next day) or you can pick it up at one of their car vending machines that you've seen around.
There's a Carvana outside of Chicago in Oak Brook that holds 27 cars.
In a statement about it, a Carvana spokesperson said:
Carvana has compliantly operated as a licensed dealer and good corporate citizen in the State of Illinois for several years, and we strongly disagree with the State’s characterization of both the facts and the law leading to this action. We are actively working with the State to resolve this issue, and they have agreed that we will continue delivering already purchased vehicles. We look forward to resolving this issue with minimal disruption to customers.
Carvana just had recent layoffs too, specifically 2,500 employees last week after a $260 million loss in the first quarter of the year.
