Casey’s General Store Donates Money To River Bend Foodbank To Help With COVID-19
Casey's General Store has really stepped up to help several local foodbanks across 16 states in which the company has locations. This includes Iowa and Illinois.
Casey's General Store announced on Monday that it is partnering with Feeding America to provide food to children and their families across the 16 states they have locations in.
Casey’s has pledged to donate a half million-dollars, with immediate cash donations going to 52 food banks for COVID-19 relief. Out of those 52 foodbanks, River Bend Foodbank here in the Quad Cities has also received a cash donation of $5,000.
Darren Rebelez, Chief Executive Officer of Casey’s General Stores says,
“Joining forces with Feeding America is a natural reflection of how we live our purpose by being here for good. At Casey’s, we are at the heart of each community we serve, and our communities face a great need for food. This multi-faceted partnership allows us to help quickly provide meals in our communities while also creating a program for long-term support of youth and family hunger programs.”
The great part about Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund, is it allows Casey's easily direct money to the local food banks in the same communities that Casey's locations are also in.
For those who want to help the River Bend Foodbank in the Quad Cities, the food bank says that because of the current crisis, a financial donation is best to help meet the evolving need for food.
