It's sad to see another retailer leaving the Quad Cities. And this national retailer with a local store is closing its doors for good.

Charming Charlie, a women's fashion and accessory chain, will close all of its stores nationwide. Those closures affect 261 stores in 38 states, including its Davenport store at 4219 Elmore Avenue.

According to USA Today, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on July 11, announcing its plans to close all of its stores.

I guess the good news for customers is, the store will offer 20%-50% off original prices with an extra 20% off the lowest ticketed price of clearance merchandise, which includes items such as jewelry, clothing, handbags and more.

There's no word on when the stores will close for good.

This closure is in line with several other brick-and-mortar stores that are shutting their doors at a rapid pace. The most recent retailer, Dressbarn, announced earlier this year it would close all its stores.
