Classic Rapper Announced As Illinois State Fair Grandstand Act

Time to drop it like it's hot.

We're coming into summer, which means we're coming into fair season (yay!). As we prep for the Mississippi Valley Fair, the Iowa State Fair, and the Illinois State Fair, we're learning more about who will be taking the grandstand.

The latest announcement is from the Illinois State Fair (which runs August 7-August 17) in Springfield. On Wednesday, August 13th, the one, the only Mr. Snoop will be there.

Jerry Costello II, Illinois Department of Agriculture director, told WGEM:

We are excited to bring Snoop Dogg back to Springfield and the Illinois State Fair. We know from past experience that he is a crowd favorite with incredible energy.

Tickets for Snoop Dogg's night will go on sale on March 15th at 10:00 a.m. on Ticketmaster. There's also a pre-show party ticket upgrade you can get that's $30.

As of now, the grandstand lineup for the rest of the fair includes:

• August 10: Megan Moroney
• August 12: Sheryl Crow
• August 13: Snoop Dogg
• August 16: Def Leppard
• August 17: Turnpike Troubadours

Rebecca Clark, Illinois State Fair manager, is ready for Snoop's show too, saying:

This show on the Grandstand stage will be one for the ages. Having been in the spotlight for so long, Snoop Dogg reaches music fans from multiple generations. This is a concert you are not going to want to miss.
