Clinton County Man Wins $10,000 Prize From The Iowa Lottery
The luck of the Quad Cities continues! After many Iowa Lottery winners in June and one in July, the winning continues in August as a man from Clinton County claimed another large cash prize.
Officials from the Iowa Lottery announced that a Clinton County man has won a $10,000 lottery prize.
Russell Smith of DeWitt won the big prize in the Iowa Lottery's "Extreme Green Progressive" InstaPlay game. Smith purchased his winning ticket at Macs Express, 1101 11th St. in DeWitt. He claimed his prize on Monday at the lottery's Cedar Rapids regional office.
The InstaPlay product combines features from instant-scratch and lotto games. InstaPlay tickets are called "scratchless" because they have no security coating that needs to be removed to determine the prize won. And rather than having supplies of tickets printed in advance like those in traditional scratch and pull-tab games, InstaPlay tickets are printed on demand from the lottery terminal.
InstaPlay games range in price from $1 to $20. For more information, visit www.ialottery.com.
A $2 million Mega Millions winning ticket was sold in Bettendorf last week. The jackpot on Friday reached over $1.3 billion.
In July, Keon Davis of Bettendorf won the second top prize in the Iowa Lottery's "Cash Creator" scratch game last week, according to Iowa Lottery officials. Davis purchased his winning ticket at Expresslane, 1208 E. Locust St. in Davenport.
Keon is a father of three and said the win will help him expand his home business to a food truck. He specializes in jerk chicken and soul food, and named his business, Freddie's Jerk Joint, after his late grandmother, who taught him to cook.
Back in June, the Quad Cities saw 5 big-time winners! The last QC winner in June was Vanessa Lam of Bettendorf who won the third top prize in the Iowa Lottery's "X The Money" scratch game. The top prize is worth $50,000.
Lam bought her winning ticket at EZ Stop, 2923 Brady St. in Davenport. She claimed her prize Tuesday at the lottery's Cedar Rapids regional office.
Also in June, Davenport had not one but two lottery winners. Christine Sanders won $50,000 (she got her ticket at Express Lane Gas & Food Mart on North Harrison) and Mason Brower won $30,000 (he got his ticket at W Mart on East Locust).
On June 14th, we told you about a Rryan Claussen of Eldridge who won $100,000 on a scratch-off ticket while on a road trip with his dad. He bought that winning ticket at Casey's (1800 S. B Ave.) in Nevada.
The next day, Jean Miller from Davenport won $50,000 from the lottery's "Power Shot" scratch game. She got the winning ticket at Kwik Star at 13888 118th Ave.
