If you're a resident of Clinton and are looking forward to heading to Riverview Pool for some summer fun, you'll need to wait a little bit before taking a jump off of the high-dive or swimming in the pool. Officials announced that they are hoping to have the municipal pool open the first weekend of June but three factors could delay that even further.

There is no denying that Mother Nature hasn't been the most friendly this spring and early summer. We went from super hot for one week to fairly chillier temperatures at night and even during the day over the past couple of weeks.

The weather is just one of three factors that have pushed back the opening of Clinton's Riverview Pool. Officials from the Clinton Parks and Recreation Department took to social media to announce the new, hopeful opening date for Clinton's Riverview Pool and the reasons for the delay.

Officials say that as of now, they are planning to open Riverview Pool on Saturday, June 4th but getting to an opening date has been difficult.

The Clinton Parks and Recreation Department says that three factors have made opening Riverview Pool difficult. Those three factors have been the weather, water temperature, and chemical balancing. On Wednesday, May 25th, Clinton's Riverview Pool water temperature was a chilly 64°.

When the water temperature increases, officials say they can get in the pool to train staff ahead of the summer and pool season.

The June 4th opening date still seems to be tentative and dependent upon those three factors clearing up. Let's hope for sunshine and warm weather so Clinton residents can get into Riverview Pool!
