Daiquiri Factory Closes Its Rock Island Location
After 18 years of serving up daiquiris in the District of Rock Island, the Daiquiri Factory has officially closed its doors. Before you get sad about the fact that you won't be able to get their delicious daiquiris, don't forget they have their new location in Davenport that also serves food. You can see exclusive photos of the new location below.
The Daiquiri Factory opened its second location in Davenport back in May of this year. The original location was in the District of Rock Island (1809 2nd Ave., Rock Island) which opened up 18 years ago. After almost two decades of serving up daiquiris in the District of Rock Island, the new Daq Fac location in Davenport is the only Daq Fac location in the Quad Cities.
On Tuesday, we reached out to Kyle Peters, the owner of the Daiquiri Factory, and he told us via phone call that low foot traffic was one of the reasons why he closed the doors of the original Daiquiri Factory. He also said that the lack of plans to help the District and downtown grow and the slow process to do by the City of Rock Island was the other reason.
Peters never had the plan to close the Rock Island location, but the reasons listed above were enough for him to close the original and focus on the Davenport location.
The new Daiquiri Factory location in Davenport has one key difference compared to the former location in Rock Island: Food. The Daq Fac menu includes burgers, nachos, chicken, shrimp, and other delicious items that are handmade every day from scratch.
The Davenport location, which sits on the corner of Harrison St. and W 3rd St in downtown Davenport (303 W 3rd St., Davenport), has been very busy since opening in May. Customers can still get the homemade daiquiris they have come to know and love at the Davenport Daq Fac location.
While some may be sad about the Daiquiri Factory location closing in the District of Rock Island, at least the Daq Fac is going away completely. Check out the Daquiri Factory location in Davenport and see photos of the new location below.
