Stats Show How Realistic Dating Standards Are In Iowa And Illinois
Married people should really feel like you caught the last helicopter out of 'nam.
If you've tried dating at all recently, you know it is a circle of Hell. Infidelity, ghosting, indifference, audacity evidently on wholesale-it all makes the dating pool a swamp.
It may be easy to advise your single friends to reexamine their standards when it comes to finding an S.O. and you may even question your own standards. But before you do, let's go to the board.
Ritani looked at the amount of dating dealbreakers in each state. How many of us would break it off, what qualities people want in a partner, and how expectations vary across the states.
If you're in Iowa or Illinois, your standards may not be too high.
Ritani's study ranked each state from the least amount of dealbreakers (31.5) to the most (66.9).
Iowa's Dating Standards
Ritani's study of over 2,400 Americans found that Iowa's dating standards score is 42.4. So it's on the somewhat higher end but it's also not super flexible.
And by far nationally, the biggest dealbreaker is if the person doesn't have a sense of humor. Even beating out unemployment, debt, and living with their parents.
Illinois' Dating Standards
Illinois does have a higher amount of dealbreakers when it comes to dating. They came in at a 47.8. That's actually among the highest standards in the Midwest.
And, as any of us who have scrolled through dating apps know, a person's political party really matters these days. The study found that 70% of Americans would not date someone in a different political party than them (which is sad that even matters, but here we are).
Over half (54%) of Americans said that their partner's physical fitness is important to them. Men prefer that the women they date make a salary of about $41,500, while women want to date men who make at least $54,700.
