Dave & Buster’s Could Be Opening A Location In Davenport
Remember when everyone was complaining about having nothing to do in the Quad Cities? I feel like those days are starting to be more in the rearview mirror.
In the past year, we've welcomed several new businesses and restaurants that are really meant for entertaining. Malibu Jacks and Iron Tee Golf have been the two big names to open up recently and they offer plenty of entertainment for the entire family. Plus, the BettPlex area is expanding like crazy.
The Quad Cities is growing and that means a lot of other businesses are seeing it as a great place to open a location. That could definitely be a possibility for Dave & Buster's and it looks like more of a reality because City documents show that they have already eyed a location.
Dave & Buster's -- the chain restaurant known to a place where adults can play games while enjoying food and drinks -- filed for a Class C liquor license with the City of Davenport.
The license is for 5248 Elmore Avenue. That address is for a location where Dick's Sporting Goods used to be located. Technically, it's the next address to the south between that and the new Kobe Sushi and Hibachi restaurant is.
On Wednesday night during the Committee of the Whole Meeting, the Davenport City Council had a chance to vote on whether to approve that liquor license or not.
If Dave & Buster's does open a location in Davenport, it will be the second location in Iowa. The other is in Des Moines. Dave & Buster's also has locations in the Chicagoland area.
