Davenport Car Dealership Helps Local Church
The New Birth of Victory Church in Rock Island is in desperate need of a new roof, better transportation for its community-involved members, and other repairs after weathering months of storms, according to Pastor Daryl Solomon in a statement to WQAD.
When it's all said and done, Pastor Solomon believes the fixes to run in the neighborhood of $50,000, putting the issue of transportation on the back-burner. That is, until Jeff's Car Corner stepped in to help.
Throughout the years, Pastor Solomon has driven many customers into Jeff's lot and now its General Manager Travis Sherven says that it's time they give back. Jeff's Car Corner has decided to donate a 15 passenger van to the church to alleviate some of the stress and costs of the looming construction off of Pastor Solomon.
According to the article, the church already has plans for its new wheels and will be taking it to Cedar Rapids for a praise dance performance on June 18th.
