Davenport girl attacked at school, parents find out over Facebook

According to video footage and WQAD, Davenport 13-year-old Zoey Miles was grabbed and punched by her Wood Intermediate locker as another classmate filmed.

In the video, you can see Miles' friend attempting to intervene, but she too is attacked.

The footage surfaced online which is how Miles' parents found out about the fight.

"I had to find out on Facebook that my kid had been beaten up at school," said Michael Miles of Davenport via WQAD.

While acknowledging that they did receive a phone call from the principal about a half hour after the fight, the parents think that there could have been more done from the school i.e. police intervention, medical attention, etc..

Miles' parents Michael and Autumn say that the video should be used as evidence of a crime and that the students involved should be charged.
