A fire broke out at a home at 1224 N Perry St in Davenport Tuesday afternoon. The house that caught on fire is right next door to the Rock n' Roll mansion, home to the B100 studios.

The Davenport Fire Department reports that one cat was saved from the fire at 1224 N Perry St in Davenport. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Below is the full press release from the Davenport Fire Department:

At approximately 12:35 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, the Davenport Fire Department responded to the area of 1200 North Perry Street for reports of a structure fire. The involved structure was a two-and-a-half-story residential duplex, with two living units in the building. All occupants had exited the home prior to the arrival of fire crews. While en route, Dispatch informed the responding crews that smoke and flames were visible from the outside of the
structure.

When fire crews arrived on the scene, they encountered flames and heavy smoke conditions from the structure. The fire was quickly brought under control with an aggressive interior attack on the fire. Heavy fire damage was noted in the unit of fire origin; with smoke damage noted throughout the entire building.

One person was transported to the hospital with injuries. The patient's condition or nature of the injuries is unavailable at this time. There were no reports of injuries to responders, and at least one cat was rescued from the scene.

Mid-American assisted crews with securing utilities to the house.

The Red Cross was contacted and is working with the displaced individuals from the damaged building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Any additional information related to the fire will be released by the Fire Marshal.

A fire broke out at a Davenport home next to the Townsquare Media studios. The fire happened at 1224 Perry St, Davenport, IA 52803. The fire started around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday morning.

The Davenport Fire Department arrived

There were no fatalities reported in this fire as of now. One man was seen carried out of the house by neighbors with burns on his body. One elderly woman was crying calling for "her babies" which happened to be her cats. There has been no report if the cats or any other animals were harmed or killed.
