If you received a ticket overnight on Valentine’s Day in Davenport for parking on a posted snow route, Davenport Public Works says to ignore it.  Due to a communication error, cars parked on posted snow routes were ticketed between midnight and 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, according to a statement from the city’s Public Works Department.

According to WQAD Todd Jones, Deputy Director of Davenport Public Works said, “We were extremely confident it was going to start snowing around midnight and everything just kept breaking apart right before the snowfall got to the Davenport area.”

Jones also said in the future, they plan to change the process for when they start issuing tickets. He said parking bans will be enforced only once snow starts falling.

If you have questions about a ticket you received, you can call the Public Works Snow Desk at 326-7923 or submit a question through the City’s website,
