Davenport’s Latest Flood Center Is Asking People NOT To Donate These Items
It's near impossible to know how quickly the floodwaters in the Quad Cities will recede. The prediction changes everyday, as the forecasts for more rain change. At this point though, it seems pretty certain that things won't be back to normal for awhile.
Thanks to the good hearts of Quad Citizens, there's been no shortage of relief efforts set up. In fact, this Friday, The Salvation Army is opening a new donation center to help those affected by the water.
According to WQAD, it will be located at 320 West Kimberly Road in Davenport, what used to be an Office Max. The center will be open from 10:00 a.m.- 6:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday until the end of May.
Per WQAD's report, the center is looking for:
- dehumidifiers
- fans
- building repair tools
- cleaning supplies
- personal protective equipment
- bleach
But, the Salvation Army says they will not accept:
- clothing
- food
- household goods
