Late last week, we learned that East Moline is getting an exciting update, in the form of a new library.

TBK Bank is building a new branch in East Moline, leaving their old building on 8th Street to the library. The move will be the first update the library has had in roughly 60 years. And now, it looks like it's going to be even bigger than expected.

According to the Quad City Times, a long-time East Moline resident has donated an additional $1 million to the project. Lou Woodworth, is an investment manager, and says his childhood friend Bill Ward, a former mayor in East Moline, helped him realize what a great investment the new library would be.

With TBK's original donation of the building and the land it's on, it was the largest donation East Moline has ever gotten. With this extra $1 million, the project will be massive. The move and remodel is set to begin in 2020.
