Eastern Iowa Man Scores Top Lottery Prize Worth $250,000
It's always exciting news when we find out that someone from Iowa wins a huge prize from the Iowa Lottery. It's even more exciting when that person is from the Quad Cities and surrounding area.
The latest big winner is from pretty far out in the QCA. He is from a small town with a population of around 375 people in northern Clinton County and the place he bought his winning ticket from has 10 times more people than that. Sure, that's not a lot of people but the lottery prize he won is huge.
Who is the latest big lottery winner in Eastern Iowa? Where did he buy his winning ticket?
Clinton County Man Wins Huge Lottery Prize
Congrats Justin Butt of Bryant, Iowa won the 11th top prize in the Iowa Lottery's "Lucky 7 Bonus" scratch game. The Iowa Lottery announced him as a big winner back on Sept. 30th.
Butt purchased his winning ticket at BP, 1006 N. Columbus St. in West Liberty -- which is Muscatine County -- and claimed his prize at the lottery's Cedar Rapids regional office.
Not that Justin has to or would, but it's fun to play the game, "What could $250,000 do in small-town Iowa?"
Well, the population of Bryant is 375 people and the cost of a case of beer in Iowa is $18.58. If all 375 Bryant residents are over 21 years old, Justin could buy everyone 35.88 cases of beer per person. Okay, so you can't buy .88 cases of beer -- they don't make a case that's that size -- so the extra .88 case of beer multiplied by each person leaves you with an extra 330 cases of beer. Justin could give his favorite 330 Bryant residents an extra case.
All joking and beer math aside; congratulations Justin on a huge Iowa Lottery win.
