Emotional Message of Gratitude from Fresh Deli

Saying goodbye is never easy.

Ed Kraklio and his husband, Joe have loved every minute of being able to the serve the Quad Cities. You could tell when you walked in. I always looked for Ed to come out and give me a hug and Joe, would wave from the kitchen through the door or window.

Last week, Fresh Deli by Nostalgia Farms announced they would be closing their doors at 4 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2019.

Not only did our community show up, they ordered until they ran out of food. I can only imagine what a bittersweet feeling that was for Fresh Deli.

Having support and love from the community hasn't made closing their doors any easier. What warms my heart in all of this is how supporters, friends and family of Fresh Deli, left Ed and Joe feeling as they took one last walk through of all the memories there and locked everything up for the final time.

I look forward to whatever it is they are cooking up next.
