On May 29th, a two year-old girl was hit by a foul ball at a Cubs/Astros game in Houston, Texas. Her parents don't deliver the news we'd hoped for.

Chicago Cubs outfielder Albert Almora his a line drive that struck the girl in the head. As you hear the announcer say in the video above, Albert saw it happen. The game was stopped for quite a long time. The girl was rushed to the hospital with very serious injuries.

For the first time since the incident, the girl's family spoke about her injuries. They say she suffered a skull fracture with a lot of bleeding and swelling of her brain. Her family says she is also having seizures.

In my heart, I'd hoped that no news was good news and that not the case. This little girl is still suffering tremendously.

I believe it's time for all MLB parks to extend the protective netting to the foul poles. According to USAToday.com, The Chicago White Sox and Washington Nationals have already announced plans to extend the netting.
