Flooding Won’t Stop The St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Here’s The Route
It's almost St. Patrick's Day, and that means it's almost time for the big St. Patrick's Day parade! I've been looking forward to this all week. This is my first St. Patrick's Day in the Quad Cities, and from what I can gather, this is a parade that shouldn't be missed.
With all the flooding that's been happening though, along with crews working to make repairs, a lot of streets have been getting shut down. Considering the parade spans across two states – the only parade anywhere to do so! – it was starting to seem likely that it'd be affected by the conditions.
Fortunately, the event will go on! It'll start at 23rd Street and 4th Avenue in Rock Island at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, and end near the RiverCenter in Davenport. You can check out the full map of the route here!
Will you be out at the parade tomorrow? Remember to wear green!
