July 5 is National Apple Turnover Day, and while it's hard to believe there is a day such as this, it's the perfect excuse to get inspired and mix up some of this gooey goodness.

Borrowed from our friends at Tasty, this recipe for Fried Cinnamon Roll Apple Turnovers requires a good amount of ingredients and a bit of patience, but it will all be worth it when you take your first bite.

What do you need to get started? Well, off course you need some good ole Granny Smith apples. And yes, you need to go to the grocery store to pick up some cinnamon roll dough. Everything else you will need should be in your cupboard at the moment, including staples such as flour, brown sugar and eggs.

And then, its time to get your apron on.

The best part of this particular recipe? Well, that has to be the moment where you get to crimp the sides of the turnover with your fork and act really fancy. Heck, you might want to Instagram that part because your friends will be impressed.

Of course, before prep for this yummy goodness is complete, you will need to use hot oil to fry these puppies up, and yes, this is where you can burn your fingers or burn your mouth when your patience to bite right into them takes over. Let them cool … then enjoy!
