If you were hoping to get in some early ice skating this week, you're going to have to hold off for a bit.

According to KWQC, Frozen Landing has postponed its official opening date. The rink was supposed to open this Wednesday, November 27th. Along with that comes the postponement of the tree lighting that was set to happen at the season opening. KWQC reports that the delay is because of a "mechanical issue."

No other details have been given, and the city has not yet announced a new opening date.

It might work out for the best though, considering the forecast for the Quad Cities this week. Rain and snow are headed for Iowa, though at this point it looks like the systems might stay more to the west of us.

We'll keep an eye out for a new date and let you know as soon as we find out!
