Hang onto those ice skates a little while longer. Skating outside in Bettendorf isn't going to happen just yet.

Opening ceremonies and a tree lighting ceremony for Bettendorf's Frozen Landing outdoor ice skating rink have been canceled. The event was originally scheduled for today, Nov. 23 at 5 p.m.

According to the City of Bettendorf's social media, events and the opening of the skating rink are canceled because the ice isn't safe yet.

City officials say as soon as the ice is safe, the rink will be open to the public. Stay tuned for updates on the City of Bettendorf's social media page.

Last year the rink remained closed for COVID and budgetary concerns.

Frozen Landing is located at 23rd Street and Middle Road next to Splash Landing in Bettendorf.

Once the rink is open admission will be $3 to skate with a $2 skate rental fee. Family night will be every Sunday, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. For a family of four; two adults and two children the fee is $10. Each additional family member is $2. We'll keep you posted when we know the rink is open to the public.
