Good news and bad news if you travel John Deere Road everyday. The good news is the 3 year widening project is in it's final phase. The bad news is the three year widening project is in its final year and starts March 12th.

According to OurQuadCities.com, the $51 million dollar project, which is expanding JDR from 4 lanes to 6.

During this phase of the project, the westbound lanes will be removed and replaced.

Also, starting Monday, the ramp connecting I-74 to eastbound John Deere Road will be closed and a detour will be set up. Two weeks later, westbound traffic will be re-routed to share the eastbound lanes, with concrete barriers separating west and eastbound traffic.

The final phase of the project is expected to last until the end of the 2018 construction season.
