Have FREE Family Fun This Weekend in the QC
With the holiday weekend approaching, it’s a great time for a ton of family fun! The time spent together is what matters most but all that ‘fun’ may not always be all that available in the budget. A local and resourceful QC mama put this list of free family fun together so we all can enjoy affordable, stress-less activities with our kiddos.
Here are just a few of the freebies listed at her blog:
- John Deere Pavilion
- John Deere Harvester Works – factory tours where you can see how the agricultural equipment is built
- John Deere World Headquarters – you can view the display mural with 75 years of history, equipment, and memorabilia
- Two historic homes of John Deere descendants: Butterworth Center and Deere Wiman House, Moline, IL
- Schwiebert Riverfront Park (includes spray park) in Rock Island
- Nahant Marsh – urban wetland boardwalk
- Bucktown Center for the Arts
- Free movies in the park at the bandshell in Veterans Memorial Park, Bettendorf (Summer 2015)
- Skybridge in Davenport
- Mississippi River Distilling Company in LeClaire
- Arsenal Island (Mississippi River Visitor Center and Arsenal Museum)
- Black Hawk State Historic Site
- Centennial Park in Davenport (features basketball courts, playground, skateboard park, spray park, cricket and rugby fields, dog off-leash area, and riverfront trail access)
You can get the complete list of all the adventures to be had in the QC, HERE.
Spending some quality time with your family without the worry and fuss over the budget helps make everyone’s time more enjoyable. I hope you and your family have a great time this holiday weekend, whether it’s exploring the Quad Cities or simply exploring your own back yard together gardening (that’s part of my plan with the kiddos this weekend)!
