Heat Returns To The Quad Cities This Weekend
With storms hitting the Quad Cities the past few days, we are going to return to extreme heat this weekend in the Quad Cities, so bust out those water bottles!
Get the sunscreen and water bottles out and contact your friends with a pool because the heat is returning to the Quad Cities this weekend. According to the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities Iowa/Illinois Facebook page, between Saturday and Sunday, we could see the heat index range from 100 to 105 degrees.
Due to some scattered showers tonight into tomorrow (Wednesday), and the extra heat projected for the weekend, the B100 listening area is in a Hazard Weather Outlook.
Looking ahead towards Friday and the weekend, Friday we are looking at a high of 90 degrees and mostly sunny skies. Saturday and Sunday right now are looking at a high of 94 degrees and mostly sunny skies. The National Weather Service for the Quad Cities says that there are very low possibilities of thunderstorms and rain showers from Friday through Monday.
To protect yourself and others from the heat, the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities recommends the following:
- Limit your time outdoors
- Take breaks in the air conditioning
- Drink plenty of water
- Wear sun screen
- Never leave a child or pet in the car
