Here’s What It Means When Iowans Do Actually Dream About Tornadoes
It's been a messy tornado season that might stick with you into your slumber.
Not all of us have dreams at night but sometimes when we do, it's obvious where our brains have been.
Interestingly, a few people lately have mentioned having dreams involving a storm or a tornado. Evidently, they're common for people throughout Tornado Alley. Not surprising when you consider that 65% of dreams come from "recent waking life experiences".
Dreams About Twisters
No, unfortunately, that doesn't mean Glen Powell's character in "Twisters".
It's actual 'naders.
So here's what experts say about your dream twisters:
- If it's a lot of tornadoes or a big one: you're stressed in real life.
- If the tornado gets you and sweeps you off: you're super stressed in real life.
- Tornado warning: literally you've lived through this and you're dreaming about it. Or you're bracing for impact of something bad to happen.
- You're saving someone from a tornado: anxiety about a relationship or something going on in it
- My favorite: if the tornado has a wide mouth, it signifies communication issues somewhere in your life.
Besides anxiety, worry, and bad stuff, tornadoes in a dream might also represent PTSD, according to Google.
It's been a disaster of a tornado season for 2024, the last thing any of us need is to be dreaming about them too but here we are. The good news is that we're close to wrapping up tornado season so hopefully the worst of the storms (including derechos) are behind us for this year.
