Here’s When You Can Set Off Your Fireworks In Davenport
This winter seemed to seriously drag its feet, and yet somehow, we're already just a few weeks away from the 4th of July? It's weird. But it's also exciting! Because, at the end of the day, we like to make things go BOOM.
If you're anything like my cousin, you've been stocking up on your fireworks for the big day for weeks now. The question now is just if you'll get in trouble for setting them off. The answer is no...as long as you do it within set hours.
In Davenport, those hours are 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. on July 3rd and 4th. Be sure to stick to the schedule though; it can cost you quite a bit if you don't. Per the City of Davenport, using consumer fireworks outside the designated window will result in:
- First offense - $250 + court costs (totaling about $400)
- Second offense - $400 + court costs
- Third and subsequent - $625 + court costs
But really, you already get two whole days of putting your fingers near explosives. Do you really need more time?
