Hy-Vee Reports ATM Scams in Iowa

Thieves just took another bold opportunity to rob you.

It never ceases to amaze me the lengths people who steal, will go to. Crooks can be pretty stupid sometimes, but these thieves even outsmarted the ATMs at 3 Hy-Vee locations in Iowa.

Did anyone see them? How long does it take to place a skimmer in an ATM where it's fairly undetectable?  All the questions and more are being asked by the West Des Moines, Des Moines, Altoona Police Department, where the three skimmers were found in Iowa.

According to KWQC.com,

"Officials say debit and credit card transactions at the stores’ cash registers were not impacted. The suspicious activity was limited to transactions at the three ATMs. Also, initial findings show the device was on the ATMs in West Des Moines and Des Moines for less than 12 hours before being removed."
