It's a busy weekend in the QC.

Not only do we have Tugfest and Floatzilla this weekend, there's also the Alternating Currents festival in downtown Davenport and Rock Island.

After a non-cooperative 4th of July forecast, the classic Iowa & Illinois fireworks show, Red White & Boom, will be a part of the Alternating Currents festival on Saturday, August 15th.

You can expect some temporary road closures this weekend for Alternating Currents (those haven't exactly been announced but you can keep up with it on their Facebook). However, the exact closures for Red White & Boom are up. Here's what we're working with Saturday night.

So as you can see, River Drive will be closed starting at 8:00 p.m. (fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.) from 4th Street all the way to Marquette. Some roads will close starting at 5:00 p.m., like E 2nd St all the way to the river at Beiderbecke Drive.

Some eastbound roads close off of 3rd, including Western, Scott, and Ripley. Like Red White & Boom traditionally, there are 3 parking garages that will offer free parking from 5:00 p.m.-midnight. On-street parking is free too unless otherwise specified (for the love of God please don't park in an apartment lot, the ones that say you'll be towed or it's permit-only. We need somewhere just to park.)

Fireworks viewing, in downtown Davenport, will run pretty much all down the riverfront, from the other side of the River Bandits stadium all the way east to Harrison. In Rock Island, you'll be able to see the fireworks show at Schweibert Park.
