Iowa and Illinois have an amazing music scene. From bands, singers, and rappers. So many people take part in making genuinely great music in our area, and I was asked to be in a music video this weekend.

I do freelance acting in my free time, and have done videos before, but this one was crazy, weird, and fun!

This Sunday I drove down to Cedar Rapids for the shoot at the Sound Box. It was for a rapper known as Price The Poet. When I got there I saw a guy dressed up as Michael Myers, and I was then told to dress as Freddy Krueger.

There were people dancing, screaming, running, and so much more. It was by far one of the weirdest Sunday nights of my life... The masks we had to wear also got very old after about an hour, but we made it!

Everyone involved were amazing!

My favorite part was the down time between takes where we all got to goofy around and have fun. Some local creators take themselves very  seriously which is great, but sometimes creates an awkward environment. Not this set though! It was a blast.

While it ended up being a late night, it was a fun night. Big shout out to everyone involved in this super fun shoot. I'll remember this one for a while!

Hotel Davenport Demolition

The Hotel Davenport is located at 5202 Brady St. and was reportedly built in the early 1970s. Earlier this year it was decided that this hotel was no longer set to have guests.

According to the Quad Cities times, the Davenport hotel has faced a number of fires, along with safety and health code violations. This has led to the call for its demolition. I've driven past it many times and have seen that the building had clearly began to deteriorate.

It was scheduled for demolition earlier this year, and said demolition began in April. Many involved in this project are excited to see what the future holds for this lot in Davenport.

I drive past this spot every day for work, and over the last month have snagged some pictures of the demolition.
