Here's some good news if you love to shop flea markets and thrift shops. The West Kimberly Mall is becoming the Mississippi Marketplace Aug. 1.

The vintage flea market and thrift shopping center bring together dozens of vendors. A husband and wife team plan to create a place for entrepreneurs to call home.

Plans will continue to bring the long-term vendors that have been a staple at this location and additionally the owners want pop-up shops in the empty stalls, to bring in more crafts, foods and live entertainment to keep the business growing. The building used to house a bowling alley and a bar.

20 new vendors that will join the Mississippi Marketplace on opening day. There will also be a stall dedicated to Rescued, non-profit high-end resale shop whose profits go to help local pets in need.The marketplace will also collect school supplies for local kids..
