Illinois Dairy Co. Recalls Holiday Nog, Undeclared Egg Allergen

I'm not sure who to make fun of more, the person who works the labeling machine or the people not assuming that Holiday Nog also has eggs in it. Either way, an Illinois dairy company has recalled a batch of holiday nog due to a possible undeclared egg allergen.

Luckily for anyone who doesn't know a drink called Holiday Nog contains eggs in it, the batch being recalled went to Ohio, not Iowa. Because the company is in Illinois and it's too funny to not write about, here are the details about an ironic recall just in time for the holidays.

Holiday Nog Recalled By Illinois Dairy Company

Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc. of Edwardsville, Illinois has initiated a voluntary recall on specific batches of private-label Holiday Nog, according to the FDA. This Holiday Nog was purchased in United Dairy Farmers stores between December 4th through December 6th, 2023, that may contain an undeclared egg allergen:

Holiday Nog is produced and manufactured by Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc. of Edwardsville, Illinois, and sold at United Dairy Farmers stores. This specific batch may have been mislabeled related to egg allergens. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs may run the risk of serious allergic reactions if they consume these products.

As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted products have been removed from all United Dairy Farmers store shelves. United Dairy Farmers stores are primarily in Ohio.

To date, there have been no reported cases of illness reported to the company.

Consumers who have purchased the product in question may return the product to their local United Dairy Farmers store for a full refund.
