Illinois’ Largest Waterpark Sets Summer 2025 Opening Date
It's almost waterpark season!
Even though we're likely going to particularly fry this summer, the good news: waterparks exist and we know when Raging Waves in Yorkville, the largest waterpark in Illinois, will open for the 2025 season.
The 58-acre waterpark is stacked with stuff to do, according to NBC Chicago:
- 32 waterslides
- lazy river
- kiddie areas
- wave pool
And new this year: an LED screen to show movies on the back of the wave pool, along with useful new features like:
- more tubes and rafts to help lines move quicker
- new special events this season
- new VIP cabanas & a cabana check-in counter
- more lockers
- new landscaping
- new sound system
- new concessions (including gourmet popcorn, churro ice cream sundaes, frozen cocktails)
- shaded group picnic pavilions
Summer 2025
And now we're getting ready for this summer. According to the waterpark's website, their opening date for this summer is May 24th. That's a Saturday.
And it's only a couple of months away. Yippee!
The park's website says that single day tickets (the ones that let you go to the park any day) are $62.99, parking costs vary but it's about $20, and season passes start at $81.99, and those are good for unlimited visits. Raging Waves is also cashless, so keep that in mind too.
The end of the season will be September 7th, so you'll have a minute to think you can outsmart the wave pool.
I, for one, am ready for waterpark season. We've waited for months! You can see their hours, details, and more on Raging Waves' website.
