According to Capitol News Illinois, the Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) was passed almost 15 years ago and is considered the "strongest-in-the-nation privacy protection."
Bloomberg Law says The Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act is a law that:
requires entities that use and store biometric identifiers to comply with certain requirements and provides a private right of action for recovering statutory damages when they do not

If you went through a photo or selfie verification process on a dating app in Illinois, it's possible your "facial geometries" were illegally collected and that's a violation of the BIPA law.

According to the attorney's website, there are no costs to sign up, and "the attorneys only get paid if they win your claim."

Hinge, OkCupid, and Tinder are owned by Match Group and the attorney believes that they "may have violated users’ privacy by failing to properly meet these disclosure and consent requirements before collecting and storing biometric information."
