95-Year-Old Illinois Woman Gets Surprise Party At McDonald’s She’s Gone To For Decades
Here's a warm fuzzy moment for your day.
There really is something to the idea of 'wiser not older', as so many of them appreciate the smaller stuff in life and that seems to be the case with Charmaine Blessman.
She loves the McDonald's in Hinsdale, Illinois.
She's gone to that specific McDonald's location for decades and always orders her favorite: a two-hamburger meal with extra onions, fries, and either a Diet Coke or coffee. Sounds like a pretty solid order to me. Charmaine has a specific way of eating it too: removing everything from one patty and placing it on the other.
When workers at the McDonald's learned she was turning 95 soon, they didn't hesitate to throw her a party.
Charmaine was escorted into the McDonald's Friday morning by her daughter. She was greeted with balloons, decorations, and a cake with her face on it.
Here's the surprise as caught by NBC Chicago:
Charmaine said about her birthday surprise:
Everyone is grinning at me, how can I not feel good? I loved my husband and wish he could be here with us. We had 62 years together.
I'm not tearing up, someone's cutting onions.
The party didn't stop there for Charmaine though. Her family had another celebration for her over the weekend.
As you can imagine, Charmaine is loved by the staff at the Hinsdale McDonald's. All the workers all agreed Charmaine is amazing and turning 95 is a big deal, so they wanted to make her birthday special for her.
