Yeah um so about that headline.

The family jewels are generally considered sacred to men, except for one guy in Indiana.

According to NBC Chicago, 36-year-old Christopher Peden from Fort Wayne is accused of cutting off his genitals and used the 'dismembered organ' to start a fire in his mother's garage.

There's a lot to unpack there.

So on May 6th, firefighters in Fort Wayne were dispatched to deal with a garage fire. But at the same time, officers were sent out in response to a stabbing.

This is where it seems to be a bit confusing. Peden first told responders at the scene that he was stabbed while he was downtown and that someone had threatened him the day before.

But Peden later told an officer that he went into his mother's detached garage at 2:00 a.m., and used a kitchen knife to cut off his genitals.

Literally nowhere in official documents, at least from what I can find, does it say why he did that.

So after he cut that off, he poured gasoline on it, set it on fire, and walked out of the garage. A gasoline container, 4 lighters, and a kitchen knife were found at the scene.

Now, Peden is facing a felony arson charge. His brother and mom were both home when he set the fire and they were woken up by neighbors coming to tell them about the fire.

He's going to be in court next week so that reasoning will be fun to hear.

Football movies work because the game is a perfect pressure cooker for drama. They’re about ego, community, and those "get up off the dirt" moments we all wish we had in real life.
