Hy-Vee Grilling Up Free Burgers, Hotdogs To Celebrate Being #1 Grocery Store

It's awesome to say that the Quad Cities, Iowa, Illinois, and only a handful of other states are home to the #1 grocery store in America.

That's right, Hy-Vee is the top grocery store in America and to say "thank you" to their customers, Hy-Vee is hosting a grill out this weekend. Free hotdogs, burgers, and sides will be available at every Hy-Vee store this Saturday.

Hy-Vee Voted Best Grocery Store in America

Just last month, Hy-Vee, which is based in West Des Moines, IA, was voted the No. 1 Grocery Store in America, according to USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

This is actually the first year Hy-Vee has ranked No. 1 on the list. In previous years, the company has ranked within the top three spots.

Founded nearly 95 years ago, Hy-Vee has become known for its superior service and commitment to quality, variety, convenience, healthy lifestyles and culinary expertise. Today, the retailer operates more than 570 business units across the U.S. and is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the nation. The USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards is conducted annually. A panel of experts
nominates 20 grocery stores as the best in the U.S. for their o:erings, selection and great service. USA TODAY readers are then encouraged to cast their votes during a 28-day voting period. The nominated stores who received the most votes are designated as the Readers’ Choice for their category.

Hy-Vee was also voted America’s Best Grocery Store for Produce and ranked as the No. 2 Best Grocery Store for Prepared Food in the nation.

Hy-Vee Throwing Free Grill Out To Say 'Thank You'

To celebrate the honor of being named the No. 1 grocery store in America, Hy-Vee is throwing a free grill out this weekend.

Hy-Vee is celebrating its customers this Saturday, Oct. 5, with a Customer Appreciation Grill Out at each Hy-Vee store location from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Each customer can receive a free burger or hot dog, chips, and water, while supplies last.
