WHO-TV reports a Northeastern Iowa man has been arrested for the murder of his 3.5-month-old child.

Following the incident, the child was transferred to the ICU at the May Clinic in Minnesota. Medical Staff at May noticed the child had a bulge on its head that ended up being a skull fracture.

Despite testing showing the fracture was caused by non-accidental circumstances, Morris denied any wrongdoing. He later claimed to law enforcement that he had accidentally bumped the child's head on the kitchen counter.

The infant died on August 9 of 2019.

An autopsy later showed the child's cause of death to be blunt force trauma.

Morris is currently being held in the Floyd County Jail in Northeastern Iowa.
