I knew it was bad, I didn't know it was this bad.

Some men and women, like myself, have the skill of gifting. We're good at reading people in our lives and knowing what they would want for Christmas/their birthdays/whatever applicable holiday is next.

Some people also have the gift of procrastination.

That seems to be the case with especially men right now. About 25% of men are Christmas gift shopping on Christmas Eve, according to a study by Forbes. 1 in 3 men in another study were found to wait until Christmas Eve. I'm not surprised but also (for ones without valid excuses) are you all genuinely out of your minds?? That's so much stress to bring on yourself on what should be a chill, festive night.

This isn't to say women don't procrastinate shopping until Christmas Eve too, that does happen. The study found that there is a psychological difference in the way that women approach Christmas gift shopping as opposed to how men see it.

Shopify talked to shop owners, who said that the majority of customers the week before Christmas is men. So a whole week before isn't bad.

A Gallup poll found some interesting nuggets:

  • 20% of men who wait until the last minute to get their partner a Christmas gift is because they're trying to find the right gift
  • Another 20% say they just flat procrastinated it.

We've all procrastinated stuff at some point but it's crunch time, my friends. No matter if you're a guy or gal, you need to get on it now if you haven't found a good Christmas gift yet.
