Getting engaged is an exciting time. Put that on top of the major accomplishment of becoming a police officer, and you've got yourself one very exciting day. According to KCCI, newbie to the Waukee Police Department Bryce Meeker was about to be sworn-in as an official police officer when he decided to add a little something extra to the day.

Meeker dropped to one knee and proposed to his girlfriend (now fiancee) Haley. He decided to squeeze in the proposal and pop the question right outside the doors of his swearing-in ceremony just moments before he took his oath.

You can see photos from the big day in the Waukee Police Department's Facebook post below:

Congratulations to Meeker for becoming a new addition to the Waukee Police Department, and to Bryce and Haley on their new engagement!
