Super Bowl Sunday is just an American classic of a day: beer, food, football, more beer, funny commercials, and a celebrity halftime show. And also, the Puppy Bowl.
Cute adoptable pups from shelters across the country "play football" in the Pupularity Playoffs in Puppy Bowl XXII. For yet another year, an Iowa shelter is being represented in the game by 4 puppers.
AHeinz 57 Pet Rescue and Transport in DeSoto, Iowa will have 3 players on Team Ruff and 1 player on Team Fluff.

Meanwhile, the Puppy Bowl will be on February 8th at 1:00 p.m. CST on Animal Planet as the pups compete for the beloved Lombarky Trophy.
The Puppy Bowl is turning 21 this year after first airing during Super Bowl 2005. At the time, the scheduling team figured out a great way to attract viewers was to point a camera at puppies on a mini-football field (kind of like a yule log during Christmas). The idea of the Puppy Bowl started as a "joke" but they actually got the green light from Warner Bros/Discovery.
