Iowa QC High School Baseball And Softball Teams Heading To State
We have some congratulations and good lucks to extend to some area high school softball and baseball teams on the Iowa side of the QC. 7 Iowa Quad City softball teams and one Iowa Quad City baseball team are headed to state to compete for a state title.
There are a few excited softball teams and one excited baseball team on the Iowa side of the Quad Cities. The 8 Iowa Quad City teams are on their way to compete for a state title. For the softball teams, the bracket is set for quarterfinals for 2020 softball state championship tournament.
The Pleasant Valley Spartans are the only Iowa Quad Cities team to make it to the state tournament. The bracket has yet to be set, but the Spartans will compete in class 4A. We will update this article when the bracket becomes available.
These are the 7 Iowa Quad City softball teams headed to Fort Dodge to compete at Roger Park:
Class 2A
- #4 Northeast (19-2)
- #2 Louisa-Muscatine (18-5)
In class 2A, the #4 Northeast Rebels will take on #5 Central Springs who finished the season at 17-3. Northeast will play Centrals Springs on Tuesday, July 28 at 11:30 a.m. at Iowa Central Field.
#2 Louise-Muscatine will play against #7 Underwood who finished the season at 14-4. The Falcons will play Underwood on Tuesday, July 28 at 4:30 p.m. at Dodger Diamond
Class 3A
- #2 Davenport Assumption (19-5)
In class 3A, the #2 Davenport Assumption Lady Knights will take on #7 Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley, who finished the season at 14-2. That game will take place on Tuesday, July 28 at 12:30 p.m. at Dodger Diamond.
Class 4A
- #4 North Scott (16-9)
In class 4A, the #4 North Scott Lady Lancers will play #5 Charles City who ended the 2020 season at 13-3. North Scott will play Charles City on Monday, July 27 at 3:30 p.m. at Iowa Central Field.
Class 5A
- #8 Bettendorf (19-6)
- #7 Pleasant Valley (17-6)
- #6 Muscatine (18-2)
The Quad Cities is well represented in class 5A. Rounding out the bottom three slots are #8 Bettendorf, #7 Pleasant Valley, and #6 Muscatine.
The #8 Bettendorf Bulldogs will play first against #1 Fort Dodge. Fort Dodge ended the regular season with a record of 26-3. That game will take place on Monday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Kruger Seeds Field.
The #7 Pleasant Valley Spartans play next also on Monday, July 27th. Their game will start at 12:30 p.m. at Dodger Diamond against #2 Cedar Rapids Kennedy. Kennedy finished the season 23-1.
The #6 Muscatine Muskies play Monday as well. The will take on #3 West Des Moines Valley at 1 p.m. at Veterans' Diamond. West Des Moines Valley finished the season with a record of 23-4.
