Iowa Set To Play Northwestern At This Historic Baseball Field
This upcoming college football season, you'll have a chance to watch the Iowa Hawkeye football team take on a conference rival at a historical ballpark. Instead of playing between goalposts, you'll see the Iowa Hawkeyes play between two foul poles at the home of the Chicago Cubs, Wrigley Field.
For the third time since 2010, a BIG Ten football game will be played at the historic Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. The Iowa Hawkeyes will be playing the Northwestern Wildcats in their annual conference game on November 4th, with Northwestern being the home team.
On Tuesday, Northwestern, the Cubs, and the Iowa Hawkeye football team announced the plans for the two conference rivals to play at Wrigley on social media.
Kickoff time for Iowa vs. Northwestern game at Wrigley field will be determined at a later date.
Before 2010 when Illinois and Northwestern played each other at Wrigley Field, the last football game played was when in 1970, and the last collegiate football game played there was in 1938.
Northwestern hosted Purdue on November 20, 2021. It marked the first game played at the Friendly Confines since the Wildcats faced off against Illinois in 2010. Purdue won that game 32-14.
Ticket information for the Iowa vs. Northwestern game at Wrigley Field on Saturday, November 4th has not been released. Northwestern Season Ticket Holders will have priority access to reserve seats before the general public.
Iowa will open the 2023 regular season at home against Utah State on Saturday, September 2nd.
Northwestern will face Rutgers also on September 2nd in a conference showdown at the birthplace of college football.
