You never know what you'll find in a kid's backpack.

If you have kids or you've ever had to unpack a kid's backpack, you know they can collect incredibly random stuff. It's not just erasers, crayons, or field trip permission slips they forgot about. Items in backpacks can get really random the younger the kid.

That's why one mom in Iowa is going viral.

According to TODAY, Emily Powell's daughter Octavia has a history of bringing home random items but her latest is one for the books.

Yep, those are Iowa State Patrol keys. Emily's video of the random find has racked up thousands of views on social media.

Her daughter claims they're fake and were given to her by her friend, Nora. Emily dropped the keys on the counter and remarked they don't seem fake. Emily emailed Octavia's teacher, who was equally confused, as she had no idea where Octavia could have gotten them.

But the keys did make their way back to the school.

And Octavia has taken full ownership. Emily says that now, whenever the family drives past a police cruiser, Octavia's eyes get really big and she says "My keys."

Meanwhile, as for Octavia's random backpack discoveries, Emily thinks Octavia is helping herself to the school's lost and found. On previous days, she's brought home a Wolverine claw and what Octavia insisted is a 'Barbie knife' though Emily said it's "100%" not made by Mattel.
