Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced on Wednesday more easing of restrictions in the state of Iowa.

During her press conference on Wednesday, Governor Reynolds announced the reopening dates for more Iowa businesses. Effective May 22nd, movie theaters, zoos, aquariums, museums and wedding reception venues will be allowed to reopen with "appropriate public health measures put in place". Swimming pools will also reopen, but for lap swimming and swimming lessons as of now.

Along with the businesses listed previously, Iowa state parks will be allowed to reopen all modern restrooms, shower buildings and cabins on May 22nd in time for the Memorial Day weekend. Campgrounds will be open for all campers including RV's, popups and tent camping. Reynolds said that youth group camp sites and shelters, lodges, playgrounds, other group camps, and visitor centers will remain closed.

Reynolds also announced that on May 28th, bars and other establishments that serve alcohol, but have been limited to carry out and delivery by previous orders, will then be permitted to reopen for indoor or outdoor seating, but limited at 50% capacity. Bars and other establishments opening on May 28th, must also follow public health measures that restaurants have implemented.

Finally, Governor Reynolds announced that on June 1st Iowa schools will be allowed to resume school sponsored activities and learning. Those activities included high school baseball and softball. Reynolds said that more details will be given tomorrow during her  press conference.

Last Wednesday, Reynolds announced the reopening of restaurants, fitness centers, malls and other retail establishments, salons, barbershops, medical spas tanning facilities, massage therapy establishments, tattoo parlors, campgrounds, racetracks, libraries, drive-in theaters, social and fraternal clubs across all 99 counties in the state.

Businesses remaining closed include casinos, long-term care facilities, bingo halls, bowling alleys, pool halls, arcades, amusement parks, skating rinks and skate parks, playgrounds and door-to-door sales.
