There is a new video of Illinois traffic that has become so viral it has the attention of a state representative and even the Illinois Department of Transportation itself.

As of this writing, a video shared by Tisha Mink on TikTok has 5.7 million views and there's a good reason. She captured the experience for drivers in O'Fallon, Illinois who are trying to exit Interstate 64 at Green Mount Road. Watch the long train of drivers who are lined up down the exit back onto the interstate and see the peril of those trying to slip by all of those drivers and then trying to turn left.

They report that U.S. Rep. Nikki Budzinski from Illinois saw the video and immediately flagged the Illinois Department of Transportation about the urgency to solve the traffic backup along this part of I-64.

Some of the comments on TikTok are very interesting:

Linda - "See how everyone is off to side so people can get by, very mindful, very considerate"

alyssa - "very demure very Midwest"

While the traffic backup is obviously dangerous considering the speed of many exiting the interstate, it's the politeness of drivers that most of the online crowds are picking up on.

The KSDK article says construction projects continue in this area of O'Fallon, Illinois, but there's no indication that anything can be done to quickly fix this exit issue.
