ALDI Meatballs Recalled in Illinois
Nearly 9,500 pounds of frozen meatballs sold at Aldi stores nationwide are being recalled due to possible metal contamination, according to the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
Check Your Freezer For Expired Meatballs
The recall involves 32-ounce bags of Bremer Family Size Italian Style Meatballs, produced by Rosina Food Products. The action was taken after FSIS received a consumer complaint reporting metal fragments found in the product.
Approximately 9,462 pounds of fully cooked, ready-to-eat meatballs are affected. As of February 22, no injuries or illnesses have been reported.
The Recalled Meatballs:
- Are labeled “Family Size Italian Style Meatballs”
- Contain about 64 meatballs per bag
- Have a best-by date of October 30, 2026
- Include timestamps between 17:08 and 18:20
- Display EST. 4286B inside the USDA inspection mark
DO NOT EAT The Meatballs
The products were shipped to Aldi locations nationwide. Aldi says impacted items were immediately removed from store shelves once the recall was announced.
FSIS urges consumers not to eat the meatballs. Customers can either throw them away or return them to their local Aldi store for a full refund.
In a statement, Rosina Food Products called the recall a precautionary measure, saying the company is working closely with regulators and retail partners to resolve the issue quickly.
